Dan
Fick was born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois, where his parents have
ministered full-time for over 22 years. The youngest of 3 children, Dan’s
first exposure to missions came when his family went on a short-term trip to
Mexico in 1988, when he was 7 years old. Then, when Dan was 12 years old, he
dedicated his life to serve on the mission field, and has never given up that
dream. Upon graduating high school in 1999, Dan attended Christ For The
Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, where he felt God calling him specifically
to Bolivia. After trips to Mexico (6 times), Kenya (twice), Hungary, and
Nepal/Tibet, Dan came into contact with Ed & Sheri Grant in Sucre,
Bolivia. When he went to visit them in September of 2002, he felt God
directing him to do a 2-year internship with them, as youth pastor of their
church. Finally, in July of 2003, Dan made the move to Sucre, and to be
trained as a missionary of World Indigenous Missions. During that time,
he served as youth pastor and worship leader of “La Iglesia Evangélica Piedra
Viva.”
Dan’s
heart lies strongly in worship and discipleship, and considers it a great
privilege to be trained in missions by such godly examples. When the
internship ends in August 2005, Dan will continue with us in Piedra Viva,
but leave the pastorate of the youth. He feels he needs more time to
start his own vision, of an International House Of Prayer in Sucre. Mean
while, he will continue to lead worship in our church.
