Our Guarani Indian Church!
|
 |
We just dedicated our new Guaraní Indian Church this last
April, 2005. It was packed full of people, and everyone in the tribe
who had not traveled, were present. This included the cheif and the
warlock, who are both considering being converted to Jesus. |
| Pastor Marcelino started this Guarani Indian church in 2002,
under the auspices of Grant Ministries. Pastor Elmore Heitman preached this
message, and noticed the need to help them build a church. The
Guaraníes live in these grass roofed huts you can see in the back ground.
Since it was not big enough for us, we met in the out doors. We
definitely needed a building! |

I returned a few months later to see the progress and
minister to the people. Fewer were in the village that day, but we were
able to encourage one of the Guarni men to become a Christian leader among
his people! His name is Diego. (Laura and Grace Grant are also in the
picture) |
| Ignacia is teaching the Indians to read and write in Spanish.
Most of the Indians do speak Spanish as well as Guarani, and are excited to
learn to read and write. They sing in both languages now. Pastor Marcelino
preaches in Spanish, but Diego always shares in Guarani. Please pray that
many Guarani Indians come to be well established in Jesus, despite their
many temptations and distractions from Christianity. |

The Guarani Children love to sing. Ignacia
teaches them songs and Bible stories with lesson themes. This
shelter had only two walls. |
| The property our Guarani
Indian church sits on is 3.5 acres of a slanting hillside.
It is perfect for church retreats! We are currently preparing to
plant 350 orange trees on it. The dividing line between our new property and the
Indian reservation is on the top of the hill, shown in this
picture. This is the
Indian reservation on the right of the fence, and our property
on the left of the fence. |
