Pastor Joel Dyke and his wife Angel (both on the far right), are now pastoring Life Church, in West Monroe, LA.

Life Church is a fun and friendly congregation experiencing healthy growth.  We are always refreshed by the people, and ministered to by the pastor when we have the opportunity to be with them. They have been a solid backing of Grant Ministries since we began our work in Bolivia.

Joel Dyke trained me in missions when he was working in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico.  Joel and his family were planting a church in the city that became an instant success and still flourishes today.  During those days, my responsibilities were to meet with the Indian pastors back in the jungles where Pastor Joel had previously planted five churches in the Oaxaca Mountains.  While attending the city church, I helped out with anything that needed to be done, from sweeping the floors, setting up chairs, and meeting with the people.

Joel and I have become close friends over the years. We reminisce, about standing in front of machine guns with our hands in the air, as the Mexican police check our vehicles, or getting sick from greasy, over salted eggs and tamales, or preaching tent campaigns.  Our friendship is also maintained in sharing new ministerial methods and experiences.

So after completing my training in Coatzacoalcos, Pastor Joel has continued to be one of my most faithful backings in the ministry.  He has even been able to make two trips down to Bolivia to minister to our Sucre church.  I really am privileged to have his friendships.  Thank you Joel!
